The real problem

Even strong students hit a wall in AP Physics 1

It's usually not ability โ€” it's how the class works. Three reasons students fall behind during the year:

1

It's a college-level course

For most students this is their first physics class ever โ€” taught at a college pace from week one.

2

The course builds on itself

Unit 1 feeds Unit 2, which feeds Unit 3. One shaky unit makes everything after it harder while new material keeps coming.

3

It's problem-solving, not memorization

Students get the concepts but freeze when a problem looks a little different. That's the real skill the class tests โ€” and almost nobody teaches it directly.

What we do differently

Two things most programs don't

1

We teach an actual problem-solving process

Not "here's how to do this one problem" โ€” the step-by-step way to break down any problem, whether it's easy, hard, or one your teen has never seen. A hard problem stops being scary; it's the same steps with a trickier setup.

2

Live practice with real-time feedback

Your teen works problems on their own whiteboard while an instructor watches the work as it happens โ€” and catches a wrong turn the moment it happens, before it becomes a habit. About 5 students per instructor.

Honest fit check

Is the School Year Program right for your teen?

A great fit ifโ€ฆ

  • โœ“ Your teen is taking AP Physics 1 this year and wants to stay ahead
  • โœ“ They have a loaded schedule (other APs, a sport, activities)
  • โœ“ They're willing to show up and put in the work
  • โœ“ You want steady support โ€” not a scramble before every test

Probably not ifโ€ฆ

  • โ€“ Your teen won't show up and engage
  • โ€“ You're just looking for the cheapest tutor online
  • โ€“ You'd rather go fully DIY (use Allen's free YouTube lessons instead โ€” no hard feelings)
How it works

Everything in the School Year Program

The same core program as our Summer Jumpstart โ€” about 2โ€“3 hours a week โ€” plus the support that keeps your teen ahead all year long.

โœ“

Weekly teaching lessons

A webinar-style class on each week's concepts and how to break down its problems โ€” your teen sees the instructor and asks questions anonymously in the chat, answered live.

โœ“

Weekly practice sessions

Own whiteboard, instructor watching live, with feedback on the approach and problem-solving steps โ€” not just right or wrong answers.

โ˜…

Office hours School year

At least 5 office hours every week to drop in with school-specific questions โ€” homework, labs, an upcoming test. A sign-up sheet lets you see how busy each session is before you join.

โ˜…

Snap a photo of any stuck problem School year

Post a picture of any school problem in our online community โ€” any day, evenings and weekends included โ€” and we send back a video walking through it with the same problem-solving steps. Usually within a few hours (12-hour max). Perfect for busy athletes and packed schedules.

โœ“

AP-style practice portal

A self-serve library of AP-style multiple-choice and free-response questions, filterable by unit and topic. Every MCQ gives instant feedback and a video walkthrough; submit a free-response and you get immediate AI feedback scored against a rubric we custom-build for each question, a full video solution, and the option to request a personal instructor review if you're still stuck.

โœ“

Weekly unit reviews

Older units stay fresh with ongoing review sessions, so nothing is forgotten by exam day.

โœ“

Step-by-step methods for every unit

A clear, repeatable way to approach each unit's problems, taught all the way through Unit 8.

โœ“

AP exam prep included

Full exam preparation is built in โ€” strategies, mock exams, and FRQ feedback as the exam approaches. No extra charge.

Does it work?

Strong starts, real scores

In our 2026 cohort, 93% of students scored a 4 or 5 โ€” most of them 5s, and 100% scored a 3 or higher. Our students typically post the highest first-test scores in their class and hold solid A's.

91% vs. 60% class average
Arabhi โ€” no physics background

Came in nervous with no physics background. After we built up her problem-solving, she scored 91% on her Unit 3 exam when the class average was 60%. That confidence carried her all year.

Walked in ready
Aneeka โ€” forgot middle-school physics

Came in having forgotten everything from middle-school physics. The steady support meant she was scoring well even before her teacher curved the test โ€” and walked into the AP exam actually knowing her stuff.

What families say

Questions

School Year Program FAQ

How much time per week does it take?

About 2โ€“3 hours a week: one hour of live teaching plus one to two hours of practice. There's no required outside homework โ€” students drop into office hours or the practice portal whenever they want more help.

Does it line up with my teen's school class?

Yes. At least 5 office hours a week cover any school-specific topic, our online community sends back video walkthroughs on their exact homework and lab problems, a self-serve practice portal lets them drill any unit and topic, and weekly unit reviews keep older material fresh โ€” so we support whatever their teacher is doing, in any order.

My teen is a busy athlete โ€” can they keep up?

This is exactly who the school-year support is built for. Class times are flexible and recorded, and when they're stuck they can snap a photo of the problem any time โ€” evenings and weekends included โ€” and get a video walkthrough back, usually within a few hours (12-hour max). Nobody falls behind for a tournament or a packed week.

Is it too late to join partway through the year?

No. Students join anytime, and we meet your teen where they are โ€” shoring up any shaky foundation while supporting what their class is doing right now. And no physics background is needed: the curriculum is built for students starting from scratch, with solid algebra and geometry as the only prerequisites.

Can we cancel anytime?

Yes. The program is month-to-month, like a subscription โ€” cancel whenever you need to. If you'd rather pay for the year up front, you save 25%.

Is AP exam prep included?

Yes โ€” full exam preparation is built in at no extra charge, including exam strategies, mock exams, and FRQ feedback as the exam approaches.
